Monday 17th - The Last Bookstore

On our list of places to visit during our holiday was The Last Bookstore, which we found as we were wandering around Downtown.

A no bag policy meant we swapped the Bob Bag for a foldback clip with a number on it, at the doorway.

The store is huge, spread over a couple of floors and literally thousands of books. Downstairs is the mainstream sections and also an area of vinyl. Minty was tempted by a couple of Jan & Dean vinyls but the quality of them was a bit suspect.

The Beeb found a Lou Christie vinyl in the bargain $1 bins.

The second floor had a book tunnel, which looked pretty cool and some of the displays were quite clever

One book tower had books for a dollar a piece and were all oldish books without sleeves, shelved by colour. You really needed a lot more time in order to browse through everything.

Despite the time spent in the store, we came away with just a couple of books, as we were being mindful of the weight and space in cases going home! Houdini and Woody Guthrie.
